Biography Snippets #1: The Cross as God's Template

In This ACTS Bible School Class, we will read excerpts of biographies from believers who had deep experiences with the Cross.  Specifically, we will examine how the Lord brings a believer to the end of him- or herself that Christ might be their life in a practical way. 
These classes are in a discussion format, where the students are able to share and discuss. 
In this introductory lesson, we read "Himself" by A.B. Simpson and study what I Corinthians 1:23-31 has to say about the working of the Cross in the believer's life.

Major Prophets Lesson 4: Isaiah's View of the Messiah and Introduction to the Times of Jeremiah

How Christ was revealed to Isaiah was fundamental to the New Testament writers.  We look at a few powerful examples of how they quoted Isaiah to preach Christ.  
To begin our study of Jeremiah, we look at the times in which He lived to assist us in our understanding of his writings.  We trust this will lay a groundwork that the Holy Spirit can use in the individual believer's pursuit of Christ in this area of Scripture! 

Major Prophets Lesson 1: Prophets and Prophecy

An introductory lesson to an 11-lesson overview of the Major Prophets.  In this episode, we lay  the groundwork by examining what the Scriptures have to say about prophets and prophecy in general. 
What is most important to our hearts is that Christ fill our view whenever we search the Scriptures.  The Major Prophets are full of Jesus, our emphasis will be finding Him in these beautiful books of the Bible! 

Historical Books II Lesson 11: Conclusion

The big lesson of the Historical Books is that Jesus needs to be the life of His people.  None of us can give God what He wants until we are full of Jesus!

Historical Books II Lesson 10: Continuity in Ezra and Nehemiah

This lesson is a simple search into the genealogy of Ezra and Nehemiah.  Within these lists of names is how the Lord is moving the Seed through a process of testing and development into His full vision for His people. 

Historical Books II Lesson 9: Inwrought Death Is a Springboard

The Book of Esther is not only a book of historical significance.  It also is used by the Spirit of God to reveal the Spirit of Christ in Esther's attitudes and actions.  In her we see demonstrated the very nature of Jesus as she offers her life for her people while blessing her enemies.  The Spirit in which she gives herself ushers in a move of God that is nowhere else to be found in the Historical Books!

Historical Books II Lesson 8: Learning to Abide with God

Esther was uniquely placed in a situation by God that she might be able to go to the altar at the right time.  How important it is to look not at the things which are seen but a the things which are not seen! 

Historical Books II Lesson 7: Replacing Reproach with an Increase of Christ

Nehemiah makes rebuilding the wall about bringing honor to the Lord, not about helping the people fix their problems.  As they stand fast in making their focus about the Lord instead of themselves, He comes to their aid.  The completion of the wall is followed by a revival in the Word of God.  Finally, the tithe is offered in the Holy City.
