Inclining the Heart

The New Covenant relationship is a heart relationship.  God loved us and gave Himself in so many ways.  We love and give back by inclining our heart to His Word.  Cultivating our hearts in this way helps us to develop a lifestyle of learning and loving Christ.

When we are in crisis, the Lord knows how to draw us into Himself so that we commune with Him above the earthy issues.  Even as we dwell face to face with Him, it is not for our own benefit; always and forever, the purpose of our salvation is that He might be honored and magnified.  Come magnify the Lord with me!

Isaac and the Ram

Abraham offering Isaac on Mount Moriah is one of the more compelling Bible stories.  How rare a love for God that would meekly offer an only son at great cost to oneself!  But there is another Person on Moriah who gets less attention from Bible-readers but way more attention from the Father: The Lamb who was TRULY offered on Moriah that day.  It will always and forever be the Lamb who gives His life for the Father's pleasure.  No one else can come close to His selflessness and willingness to die.

In this episode, we will meditate upon how an attitude of pro-self expects others to put "me" in a higher position, and how I react when this does not happen.  The only antidote to such a heart condition is to cultivate a love for the Lamb of God, that Eternal Spirit that is the polar opposite of pro-self!

A pro-self spirit is simply a heart condition that seeks to exalt itself as God.  All lovers of Jesus and His Cross will desire to have this attitude displaced by the Lamb Spirit!
